Our Story

How it all started...

Stewartstown Baptist Church began as a small Bible study in the home of Robert and Dollie Hill. With a heart for fellowship and a desire to share God’s word, this gathering quickly grew into something more. On January 2, 1983, the first Sunday school and worship service was held with 25 people in attendance.
As the church grew, services moved to Stewartstown Elementary School in the spring of 1983. That same year, Rev. Glenn Ridall was called as the church’s first pastor, bringing dedication and a vision for the future. Through home Bible studies, youth gatherings, and community outreach, the church continued to flourish. By June 3, 1983, Stewartstown Baptist Church was officially constituted, and the first revival was held later that year.
From humble beginnings to a thriving community of faith, Stewartstown Baptist Church remains committed to its mission of worship, outreach, and service.

Expanding the vision...

From its earliest days, Stewartstown Baptist Church has been committed to sharing the love of Christ and making disciples. As the church grew, so did its outreach, ministries, and impact. The purchase of land in 1986 marked a new chapter, allowing for the construction of a permanent home for worship, fellowship, and service. Over the years, additional buildings, and the construction of a pavilion, have expanded ministry opportunities.
Beyond the walls of the church, Stewartstown Baptist has remained actively engaged in missions—locally, nationally, and globally. Through Vacation Bible School, disaster relief efforts, and partnerships with the Baptist State Convention and Keystone Baptist Association, the church has continually sought to serve others and share the gospel. What started as a small gathering has flourished into a vibrant church family dedicated to loving God, loving people, and making disciples.

Where we are headed...

As we look to the future, Stewartstown Baptist Church remains focused on its mission: helping people become committed followers of Jesus Christ for the glory of God. We believe God has greater things in store as we continue to grow in faith, serve our community, and reach the world with His love.
With a heart for discipleship, we strive to deepen our relationships with Christ and one another. We are committed to expanding ministries that equip and encourage believers of all ages. Whether through small groups, outreach programs, or missions, our goal is to see lives transformed by the power of the gospel.
Stewartstown Baptist Church is more than just a building—it’s a family. And as we move forward, we invite you to be a part of the journey as we seek to glorify God in all that we do.
